I have mounted the new carbon oil sump protector from Ton Kreuger today. The original protector was removed to make mounting possible. Donkervoort have a new protector available, but I went for this improved aftermarket version for several reasons. It is manufactured from 21 ply Carbon fibre and Kevlar cloth. You can run a truck over it and it is still in one piece! A dry sump is the other alternative, but that also has it’s disadvantages. There are several discussions going on that this plate might damage the chassis on impact. We have the prove it is the other way around. The impact on the engine mounting struts in case when you hit something can damage chassis and engine with the Donkervoort version. I have seen calculations from this manufacturer to prove that. The protector is easy to mount. Engine sump protector for Audi enines made out of Carbon Fiber. Produced by Mr. Ton Kreuger. Also available: Cycle Wings, Carbon Seats and Air intake box. Do you require more info: Mail him at: info@lld.nl, or call 0031 (0) 3484 34332 Any negative points? Only one; you have to remove the whole bottom plate to be able to do an oil change.
