I had some vibrations left in the drive line. Therefore I upgraded our D8 to a carbon prop shaft. I can just say WOW. It is now completely FREE of any vibrations. A worthwhile upgrade. The advantages are indeed as the manufacturer of the shaft claims: Minimised shock loads, improved torque transfer, improved and quicker gear shifts and improved braking.

The existing shorter Caterham shaft was extended to fit the Donkervoort. Notice the relatively small distance between the joints. Also potential vibration elimination...

The original steel shaft joints are further apart potentially creating more vibrations.

One of the drive shafts is also replaced. If you need the OEM number. The correct part number is GKN 21771 (Spidan axle - Ford Sierra 1987). This is the superseeded numer from the old axle the 21772) Priced around 200 Euro's ex BTW/ TAX/ VAT each at any proper wholesaler. The axle has 26 splines on the diff side and 28 on the wheel hub side. Correct lengt is 605 mm. Torque for the central lock nut (A)is 250-280 Nm (Note: left turn =fixation)
